Three pillars of sustainability are considered at Hildebrand Farms

Cows, land and the business of running the farm. Those are the three pillars Melissa Hildebrand considers when building a sustainable future for her four-generation family dairy operation.

Regarding the cows and the land, the family grows the feed for their cattle on 2000 acres of their own land, and they use manure from the cows to feed the farm's soil, creating a loop that adds to the sustainability of their dairy operations. On the business side of the farm's operations, Hildebrand has its own bottling line and they've created direct relationships with chefs and stores in their region of Kansas. They also run an on-farm store that sells their full product line as well as soft-serve ice cream.
