Born of a serendipitous mistake

On her 57 acre "ice cream farm," Rachel Burns grows herbs and fruit for her handcrafted ice creams, which are made in a production facilty that's right next to her house. All of this deliciousness started as a mistake, when Rachel, then living in University City, planted mint in her yard. Experienced herb gardeners will tell you to NEVER plant mint in the ground, unless you want it to take over ... and that's just what happend. The mint grew and grew and grew ... she had to do something with it. After a bit she settled on making mint ice cream. She dusted off her old Cuisinart home ice cream maker and got to work. The rest is, as they say, history.
