The hive mind

The hive mind — a collective hive working for an end that the individual bees will never see. Each worker bee lives only a few weeks and during that time, she’s working from the time she hatches to the time she dies, all toward the benefit of the hive. Dr. Pierson finds inspration in this and wonders what we might be doing to benefit our society on a larger scale that we’ll never personally reap the benefits from. We can all do small things with our lawns, with our trash, with our purchasing habits, that can be a help to bees, to humanity and the planet. Urban, suburban, rural ... we all need to join in the conversation about conservation.
